LIVERPOOL vs MANCHESTER CITY: MATCH PREVIEWWith either Crystal Palace or Cardiff waiting in the Carling Cup final, this is a terrific opportunity for either club to land a trophy and it is the Reds who hold a narrow advantage.

Liverpool is currently taking the 7th place in the League, and from the looks of it will not be able to grab a Top 4 spot this season as well. Manchester City managed to get hard victory against Tottenham this Sunday with 3:2 and remained unbeaten at home. The show was close to its end when Defoe, missed to score for 2:3 in the Citizens’ net. A few minutes later, Mario Balotelli was tripped in the penalty area, received a penalty and formed the end result 3:2, after scoring. The team is convincingly leading in Premier League with 54 points, 3 ahead of United.

Liverpool with Suarez’s absence and the recent losses looks very shaky and unconvincing. On the other hand Manchester City, with their thrill victory this Sunday, and their place on top of the table, should give them the necessary boost to get a victory here after 9 years. The Reds have drawn seven matches already on home soil this season

This match is going to be all about the City attack against the Liverpool defence, even though Roberto Mancini’s men are away from home. Going back to the first leg, City had to do without the services of Kompany, Silva and Yaya and Kolo Toure. With Kompany serving the last game of his suspension and the Toure's playing for Ivory Coast in the AFCON, only Silva of that quartet will be available here.

As for the hosts, Jay Spearing is unlikely to return from injury for Liverpool, meaning Charlie Adam should continue alongside Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson in midfield. Stewart Downing and Dirk Kuyt are also in contention for two of the three forward spots in the starting XI, although expect Kenny Dalglish to stick with Andy Carroll, Craig Bellamy and Maxi despite Saturday's defeat to Bolton.
