PORTO v LEICESTER BETTING PREVIEWPorto need to win this game to ensure they qualify for the next stage of the competition. A draw could see them leapfrogged by Copenhagen if the Danes beat Club Bruges in the other game in Group G. The Dragoes managed a 1-0 victory against Sporting Braga in the Primeira Liga on Saturday to end a run of five consecutive draws in normal time. They currently occupy the third place in the league standings, 4 points behind leaders Benfica and 2 behind Sporting Lisbon.
In the 4-1-3-2 starting line-up, Andre Silva and Jota are expected to lead the line, while Otavio, Jesus Corona and Oliver Torres should form the offensive midfield. Youngster Rui Pedro made his first team debut for Porto in the last game and scored the winner, and he could play at some stage. Miguel Layun returned to first team action at the weekend for the first time in a month and he is likely to start at the expense of Alex Telles. Midfield duo Ruben Neves and Sergio Oliveira are both out injured.
Leicester have already qualified for the knock-out round with 13 points from group G and they will only look to extend their unbeaten record in Europe. Unfortunately for Leicester they haven’t been able to replicate this form domestically. They lost 2-1 at Sunderland on Saturday and currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, just two point above the relegation zone.
Danny Drinkwater is currently serving a three-match domestic ban but is available to play in the Champions League. He will be joined by Nampalys Mendy in the middle of the park, while the wingers Demarai Gray and Jeffrey Schlupp will support Ahmed Musa and Shinji Okazaki upfront. Hence, Islam Slimani, Andy King, Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez will be all rested while goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is not ready to return from injury.
