Italy vs Spain will be held at Wembley Stadium, in London.

The match is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 and televised on BBC One for free.

As to direct encounters, Italy and Spain met in the 2016 EURO Round of 16, with the Italians eliminating the big rivals, beating them 2-0. They also met in the World Cup qualifiers twice between 2016 and 2017. La Roja beat the Azzurri 3-0 at home and drew 1-1 in Italy.

Italy will be without Leonardo Spinazzola after the in-form left back broken his Achille. Emerson Palmieri is expected to replace him while Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini will retain their berth as centre backs. Giovanni Di Lorenzo should get the nod over Alessandro Florenzi as right back, who is not fully recovered. No changes are expected in midfield, with Nicolò Barella and Marco Verratti flanking the playmaker Jorginho. Up front, Ciro Immobile looked tired and is in contention with Andrea Belotti to start from the off, while Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Chiesa are likely to start out wide. The likes of Manuel Locatelli and Domenico Berardi provide further options in midfield and attack respectively.

Luis Enrique withdrew Pablo Sarabia at half-time and the winger is a major doubt because of a muscular injury. Alvaro Morata also came off after 54 minutes and the Juventus striker is in contention with his substitute Gerard Moreno. In midfield, the youngster Pedri has impressed so far and looks sure to retain his berth, alongside Koke and Sergio Busquets. At the back, Jordi Alba and Cesar Azpilicueta look favourites over Gayà and Marcos Llorente, while Aymeric Laporte and Pau Torres should be paired at the heart of the backline.

Italy looked solid at the back in all their outings so far while Spain missed a lot of chances against Switzerland and will have to sharpen up in attack to progress further.
