ESTONIA vs IRELAND : MATCH PREVIEW- Estonia had a 2-1-2 homerecord when completing groupphase beating the also limited teams from Northern Ireland and the Faroe islands there. However they finished Group C with 16 points. They ended up a distant 10 behind first-place Italy, but managed to edge out Serbia by one point and Slovenia by two.

- Ireland played a very solid qualification and just missed to qualify directly by winning their group. Goals have been hard to come by for Ireland of late, a problem that ultimately cost them their automatic qualification for Euro 2012. Only four times in the last five games have the Irish found the net.

- However, it is always dangerous to underestimate an opponent and Giovanni Trapattoni is far too experienced to let his squad think that their place in next summer’s showdown tournament is already secured. On paper Ireland are the stronger side but we all know that pressure and nerve play a massive part in big games. Ireland will still be reeling from their controversial defeat to France in their World Cup 2010 play-off and will no doubt use that agonising loss as a source of motivation.

- Ireland will have its all-time leading goal scorer and captain Robbie Keane doubtful even if he’s recovered from his adductor muscle injury. Kevin Doyle is out of the first leg of the series due to a suspension. Neither Simon Cox or Jon Walters is particularly prolific at international level since they have scored two goals in 11 appearances for Ireland.

- Tarmo Ruutli, manager of Estonia, has recalled Andrei Sidorenkov to his midfield and Vladimir Voskoboinikov to the attack after neither of them played for the team in the group stage. Voskoboinikov is set to take the place of the injured Sergei Zenjov. The key player for Estonia against Ireland is likely to be Konstantin Vassiljev.
