BAYERN MUNICH vs BORUSSIA DORTMUND : MATCH PREVIEW- A victory for Bayern would see them pull eight points clear of last year's champions while a Dortmund victory would close the gap to two points.

- Bavarians have played excellent football this season, demolishing opposition in a run of results that include 7-0, 5-0, two 4-0 and two 3-0 victories. The Reds have picked up an impressive nine wins in 12 played. Bayern also faced a surprising challenge in Augsburg last week, relying on an 83-minute wondersave from Manuel Neuer to guarantee a 2-1 victory.

- Dortmund started the defence of their title in sluggish fashion but they have certainly got their act together in recent weeks. They collected just one point from their first three road trips but then completed back to back wins at Mainz (1-2) and Werder Bremen (2-0) and they played out a 1-1 draw at Stuttgart in their previous away day.

- Dortmund results over their last five Bundesliga games are second to none, scoring 17 and conceding just two. In contrast, Munich have won three, drawn one and lost one, scoring 11 while allowing three in the other direction.

- Immediately after the Bayern match, Dortmund will set their focus towards the Champions League as they will prepare for their trip to London to face Arsenal. Bayern, instead, will host Villarreal in a must win game. Both teams, surely, will give everything to win this game.

- Neuer impressed Bayern fans with a series of performances that has seen him return 15 clean sheets in 20 games across all competitions this season. But, at the moment, the Bavarian star is Mario Gomez, who is averaging more than one goal per game. Furthermore, Arjen Robben could make his return from injury earlier than expected: he has returned to training for the first time since undergoing surgery in October, raising hopes he may be made available for the club's upcoming match. Bastian Schweinsteiger will not play any football for the rest of the year due to a broken collarbone

- The key Player for Dortmund is Mario Goetze. The teenage midfielder is among the brightest prospects in the European game and has already been linked with a string of the continent's leading clubs. Also Grosskreutz is regarded as one of the most talented youngsters in Germany after breaking into the national team last season and helping Dortmund win the Bundesliga last term. Dortmund will be without centre-back Neven Subotic.

- Five of the last seven Bundesliga head to heads have delivered at least three goals in total and five of the last six have seen both sides find the target.
